Profile caps versus local disk limits

They meter seats and profiles. The real cap on a local tool is disk and attention. Learn what actually limits a Windows workshop with no seat counter.

Profile caps versus local disk limits 1

Cloud tools sell you a number. Ten profiles on the free tier. Fifty on the plan named after a metal. The number is easy to invoice and easy to fear. A local app has no reason to put that counter in software. The caps that remain are disk, RAM, and the number of profiles you can still name without lying to yourself.

MaskWright's store has no limit check. That is a fact from the code, not a dare to fill the drive. This note sits in Antidetect browsers because the meter is the thing their blogs want you to compare.

A seat is not a profile

A seat is a login to a vendor vault. A profile is a user-data directory on this PC. Mixing the words is how hosted browsers sell isolation as a subscription. What an antidetect browser is already split those objects. Vendor lock-in is what happens when the only copy lives in their region.

MaskWright has no team seats and no account. Antidetect without an account is that architecture. Share work with platform roles, not with a shared cloud roster.

What actually fills a local disk

Chromium user-data directories grow. Cache, service workers, IndexedDB, extensions, GPU shader caches. A profile you open every day will not stay small. I have watched a single busy storefront admin eat multiple gigabytes without doing anything exotic.

RAM is the other cap. Each launched Chromium is a real browser. Bulk start of ten profiles on 16 GB of RAM is how the machine starts swapping. The UI will let you try. Windows will not thank you.

Attention is the cap people skip. If you cannot remember which profile holds Brand A's pixel, you have too many. When you do not need an antidetect browser is the honest no. Extra profiles feel like professionalism. Often they are overhead.

What I will not treat as a feature

Unlimited fake accounts. A meter of zero does not authorize extra identities. SMM use stays on brand pages you already run.

A "secure browser" with a profile cap. Most secure browsers are not antidetect. Hardening a single life is a different job.

Firefox via Camoufox has the same disk story. Camoufox notes cover the core, not a secret extra cap.

Why we built a local antidetect is the longer architecture note. The short version: if the limit is a counter in someone else's billing system, you are not buying a local app.

How I actually budget profiles

One profile per authorized identity that must not share cookies. Not one per tab. Not one per campaign. Brand Instagram and Brand Ads Manager can share a profile if they are the same entity and you want them to. Personal Facebook stays out.

Back up maskwright-data. The index is encrypted. Chromium dirs are not. Deleting a profile you no longer open is hygiene, not a feature the vendor should charge you to reverse.

If you are hitting disk, the answer is fewer live profiles, not a bigger plan. If you are hitting RAM, launch fewer at once. If you are hitting attention, you probably did not need the extra profiles.

What a week of disk actually looks like

I keep a rough budget: a quiet research profile might sit under a few hundred megabytes. A storefront admin I open daily, with extensions and a week of cache, can pass a couple of gigabytes without anything exotic happening. Ads Manager is worse. If I bulk-start four of those, I am not surprised when the fan spins.

The useful habit is deleting profiles I have not launched in a month, after I export cookies I still need. That is not a vendor feature. It is housekeeping. Cloud meters train you to fear a number. Local tools train you to look at Explorer.

If a teammate asks "what is the max," I say: name every live profile in one sitting without notes. If you cannot, the cap already hit. Software that lets you create the 200th row is not a gift.

FAQ

Does MaskWright cap profiles on the free app?

No. There is no paywall and no limit check in the store. Disk, RAM, and attention are the caps.

Should I create a profile per ads campaign?

Usually no. Split by authorized identity, not by campaign name. Campaigns already live inside Ads Manager.

What if I need the same profile on two PCs?

Copy the folder, or accept a hosted browser. MaskWright does not sync. That is the product, not a missing checkbox.
